Will Your Brand Message Connect?

Will Your Brand Message Connect?!)

Every former Bachelor contestant knows hindsight is 20/20. And anyone who’s been in marketing as long as I have knows:

Most businesses don’t have a bad offer. They have a confusing one.

It’s not that your audience doesn’t need your service.

It’s that your message isn’t making it crystal clear why they should choose you.

And when people don’t understand what you do—or how you can help—they don’t take action.

What’s a “Confusing Offer”?

A confusing offer is one that:

  • Uses industry jargon instead of plain language

  • Assumes people already understand what you do

  • Focuses on features, not benefits

  • Doesn’t answer the most basic question your customer is asking: “Is this for me?”

And clarity isn’t just nice to have—it’s the reason someone chooses you over a competitor.

How to Check if Your Message is Clear

Here’s a quick exercise to test your messaging:

👉 Write one sentence that explains what you do and who it’s for.
No fluff. No buzzwords. No clever metaphors.

Just a simple, straight-to-the-point explanation.

If that sentence is hard to write, awkward to say out loud, or takes longer than 10 seconds to explain, that’s your sign: Your message needs clarity.

Now Is the Time to Get Clear

Not to go all Dr. Phil on you, but the only thing worse than waiting until today to refine your message is putting it off until tomorrow.

The success of every email you send, every post you write, every landing page you launch—all depend on your message being rock solid.

The Bottom Line:

If your audience doesn’t understand what you offer or how it helps them, they’ll scroll past—even if it’s exactly what they need.

Don’t wait to fix it.
Start with that one-sentence clarity test and let it guide your next steps.
